About Us

In a Nutshell:

Awesome Fighter Animation is a group  of Sci-Fi and Horror nerds who have spent years developed the incredible ability to turn caffeine into animation. If you want animation for online games, film & television, or advertisements; we’ll spring into action. AFA’s ultimate goal is seeing their quirky and original animations hit the small screen in the form of a TV series, followed by world domination.

In a larger Nutshell:

Awesome Fighter Animation is a South Australian professional partnership, who specialize in the development of entertaining and original animation and Illustrations. We are adept in; film making, character design, Illustration, character animation (in 2D and 3D) and artistic flexibility. Our strength lies in our creativity, passion, as well as our versatility. Awesome Fighter Animation (AFA) consists of; Tim Cannan, an experienced animator and designer, and Levi George, an animator with a Bachelors Degree in Media Arts and Graduate Certificate in 3D Animation.

Awesome Fighter Animation’s first short films were created in 2005. Our first short film ‘Garbage Day’ was used by Digislide, a local projector company, to demonstrate the clarity and colour of their projectors. ‘Garbage Day’ also met with success locally in the First Cut Film Festival, and nationally, winning the Animation category in The Bond University Film and Television Awards (BUFTA). Our second short, ‘Scaryville’; was also successful; winning the design category in BUFTA in 2006.

In 2008 Awesome Fighter Animation was commissioned by The Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology to create an animated short encouraging a healthier lifestyle for blue collar workers. Also in 2008 the Media Resource Centre granted AFA funding to participate in Digitopia, Animation Initiative. AFA wrote and developed a 5 minute animated short entitled Awesome Fighter. The project was overseen by producers from the People’s Republic of Animation; it was screened later that year at the Mercury Cinema and was received positively.

Working from Tomorrow Studio on Wakefield St, Awesome Fighter Animation’s skills are sought by clients looking for original and appealing design, illustration, advertising and animation. The partnership has developed strong working relationships with other local multimedia businesses and freelance animators. Our goal as creative individuals is to produce animated content that is entertaining, engaging and unique.
